Not for the purpose of making use of Him, but knowing His presence through God the Spirit, allows us to glorify Him and seek His help in prayer and work of conviction in the lives of prebelievers. This book is another wake up call to action from complacency to commitment to Christ in daily walk and talk with Him.
Have we forgotten God that He is with us always? I am reminded in Matthew 1:23 that the name Immanuel means 'God with us'. God came in the person of Jesus. We can read about Him in the Gospels. At Pentecost, God came in the person of the Holy Spirit. We can read about Him in the book of Acts as well as in other portions of the Bible.
Has the Holy Spirit become the Forgotten God that Francis Chan together with Danae Yankoski have written about? Through history, has God the Holy Spirit been forgotten entirely? By His people? By the church? Can we still become like the church as recorded in Acts 4? We have got Jesus, why the need of the Spirit? What are our fears? Can we know the Spirit? What must I take action today that will reverse the tragic neglect of the Holy Spirit?
Discover the answers to these questions as you consider reading this book, Forgotten God.
