Pace of Life

Pace of Life

How can I know if my pace of life is affecting me?

One way is to try to recall during dinner time what were the items you took for lunch? May be it is a good measurement that we are just moving too fast that even eating, we do not know what we ate. Try remembering the individual dishes on the plate and the person you ate with and the topics you talked about.

If really we can hardly recall, we can say even over meals, we are physically there, but our minds are somewhere else, or possibly in the virtual world - meddling with our gadgets or checking in on our emails or Facebook or Twitter updates while feeding in the 'coal' like in the fuel-powered train.

If this is really a non concern, read another blog or blog post. But if it is, then it is time for a bit of self awareness. To take time to slow down, to be lesser productive, to be even late if necessary, to be some say waste a bit of time, to feel my heart beat, to feel my pulse rate, to enjoy every spoon of food taken, to smell the fragrance of the beverage, to remember every item of the items consumed, to enjoy every bite and crunch of the vegetable in the mouth, to reflect on the digestion into your body system, converting to energy for your body.

Consider slowing down our pace of life.

Rejoice.

Thank You God

Thank You God

For the rain, for the refreshment, for the coolness, for being the Living Water.

For the warm of the sunshine, for the embrace of Your love, for the Son.

For the life, for the bread, for the food, for the air I breathe, for You are the Bread of Life and the Breath of Life.

For the gift of people, for friends, for family, for fiends, for colleagues, for teachers, for pastors and leaders, for mothers and fathers, for neighbors near and far, for brothers and for sisters, for young and old, for communities, to tell us that we live not alone; we have You as greatest Friend of all and you are the Presence with me always; the One who said, "I am with you always!"

Thank You God

Perspective (Part 3)

Perspective (Part 3)

When we know how awesomely great our God is, we can appreciate why God said to Gideon that his army was still too big for the battle against the Midianite army stronghold.

Perspective (Part 2)

Perspective (Part 2)

When we see how awesomely great and awesome our God is and the immeasurable hugeness of His wisdom, we can then in His gracious bestowment understand the Bible better and how some or more and more verses or passages of Scriptures become easier to comprehend and appreciate.

For example:
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, Ephesians 3:20

This verse makes sense now as I think about my prayers I utter to God. He is able to do "FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY THAN" all that we ask or think.

Therefore pray. Pray more.

He is able.

God gets the glory.
We get the help.

Perspective

Perspective

What is me compared to God?
What is my wisdom compared to God's?
What is my faith as compared to God's ability to help?
What is the human race combined compared to the size of God?

See yourself as the tiny dot on the big size whiteboard your teacher uses. The whiteboard cannot really be used but for our purpose is the size of God and more. So what is the size of our wisdom as compared to the His? Can we really understand what He is doing?

But now...

Imagine this...

Almighty God now becomes that tiny little dot.

Doesn't that blow your mind and blow you off your chairs?

Of course He is going to be Someone, out of this world, extraordinary, out of the 'norms'

Of course He is going to be questioned, tried and tested 'Sure or not?'

He is bringing us
Out of the 'norms'
Back to be normals.

The Morning Jam (Part 3)

The Morning Jam (Part 3)

I scaled down the escalator
I see the sleepy eyes and
The face surrounding them
If only they slept early

The inconsiderate yawn
The complaining cranking
Of the escalator plates
When is next maintenance

So many take for granted
The steady ride up down
Yet the escalators also
Need a break and lubricate

Why some can sunny shine
While some are sleepy ahhh
Can I decide care enough
For my eyes say No Phones

The Morning Jam (Part 2)

The Morning Jam (Part 2)

In case I lose the thought
I quickly jot down caught
Morning Jam Part two
So we may beat the blue

Instead of why the jam why
By asking why do help
No stop there stop the yelp
List items to ease the cry

Move to the back of space
Occupy and squeeze more
So others can also come in
Freeze gadgets look around

Read a book take a look
A book rhymes with look
Read that particular one
Which I have procrastinated

Pray a silent prayer to God
God with you and He hears
For mum and for dad and
For brothers sisters myself

Remember too my neighbor
Staying next to me or even
Standing sitting next to me
Tell that God loves him her

If the journey is long or dry
Catch up with sleep if can
But do drink water sip sip
The bottle you took along

Last but not least neither
Exhaustive His wisdom
Bestows on you and me
Write write encourage me

Rejoice

The Morning Jam

The Morning Jam

Not the spread over my bread
Not the free playing of instruments we like to play
But the squeeze in between of people in trains and buses
And the queue of congested vehicles and traffic junctions

Why so slow some will comment
Why like this every time some will say
But maybe we can try what we can do
To make it better and nicer

Can comment and saying make a difference
Sometimes it does
But taking action to improve step by step
Reduces many a fuss

Rejoice

Oblivious

Do we know, am I aware that the planet earth is rotating on its axis, not like the car vehicle wheel we see of a child overlooking the window on the wheels of cars nearby?

What is the speed of this rotation? How much of each rotation affect the life of every inhabitant on the planet? Any slight variation I cannot imagine its impact on the planet?

Do we then think we are still the King or Master of our world? We are simply oblivious.

Oblivious of the world around us.
Oblivious of the life each day given us.
Oblivious of daily grace for daily life.
Oblivious of the Maker God be man.
Oblivious of His presence all along.
Oblivious of God Loves Me in Jesus.

God Be Glorified

From no beginning to beginning,
Your name be glorified!
In Your great sovereign timing,
You made and You beautify!

In creation You bestowed creativity
By Your Word the universe came to be
On the earth You breathed life to humanity
On that day all submit to Your decree

O God be glorified
Be glorified O God
Your name be magnified
May we in You be satisfied

God Be Praised

Everyday is a day of mercy and grace
Given to each and everyone of us
No more, no less and no see your face
This living each day is a big big must

One can choose to curse and complain
Or can choose to think of bad things
Or can decide to help those in pain
And run errands and relieve suffering

Many may live each day chasing the wind
Some decide to go tour enjoy holiday
Plenty may bet and gamble when to win
Will you choose to follow the Living Way?

One day one day we must all face reality
It will come and so not go the rat race
Because at the end you find all is vanity
Be satisfied in God, His name be praised

Speak Fear In The Face

To get out in the name of Jesus

As I write these words, I remember Jesus speaking to the wind and the waves harassing on the boat amidst the storm.

Jesus stood up.
Jesus made a stand.
Jesus spoke.

Be still.

When fear and worry come harassing our boat, know that we have Jesus in the boat.

Stand up.
Make a stand
Speak.

Be still.

Why They Never Really Listened?

They had ears, right?
They had eyes, right?
They heard the words.
They saw the miracles.

What were they holding on to?
Or what is holding them?
What did they hear?
Or they were hearing something else?
What did they see?
Or they saw the physical life only?

The Taste of In Sickness and In Health

I am sure the taste of good health is a common sight in daily life. Busy coffee shops, commuting train stations, shopping customers, folks enjoying the gardens and parks.

There we can visualize people in healthy estate. No one wants to be sick. It just robs the life out of everyone. But then there is something called balance. Too much of something simply gets a toll on other aspects of life.

Balance reminds us that we have other aspects of life that needs our support and also we need their support as well. When we fall sick, there is that greater appreciation of good health. When we feel the heat, then we greatly appreciate the air conditioning. When we feel the strength, we gratefully appreciate the process of daily training that went into it.

When we tasted both estates of sickness and health, there is that mystery of need in life - the need to humbly seek help from a greater being who can make us well.

Taste and see that the Lord is good.

Why Am I Still Alive?

I open my eyes
I took in a breath
I am still alive
Oh why the sigh?

What's the reason?
Face the seasons?
All all over again
Then what's the gain?

Haven't I seen enough
The pain people laugh
The tear flowing down
Their cheeks no sound

Wonder wonder wander
Off to Far Far Away Under
But there I found pleasure
Let go I lay hold Treasure

Yes yes now I have reason
Find those still imprisoned
By darkness stillness night
Lead them to Jesus Light

You ask why am I still alive?
To press on give you Hi-five
We have each other strong
And Jesus with us a Song

Where is God When I Am ...?

Where Is God When I Am ...

We do question the existence of God and at least where the presence of justice when none is evidently seen.

When none is seen is a statement that holds no weight because if we do open our eyes wide, justice is evident in daily life, at least most of the time, say 90% of the time.

Therefore with this observation, will it be enough to say God is there when we experience not His presence in our circumstances. In another sense, God is there also whether individually or corporately we believe Him or not. He is there.

Our response : trust in Him and worship Him only.

Further question for thought : where am I when God ...?

Enjoy vs Explain?

What are you?

Are you the kind who like to enjoy the moments with people?

Or

Are you the kind who like to explain the moments with people?

Do Not ..., For I Am ...

From the Bible...
The book of Isaiah
Chapter 41, verse 10

Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

Reflect on the words ...

Awesome!
Wonderful!

How Is Your Heart Today?

How Is Your Heart's Condition?

How is your heart today?
Is it filled with worries and heavy laden with weighty things to handle and complete?
Ready to accept and receive the light and gentle gift of God in Jesus?

Obey and apply God's word.
Remove the rocks and thorns.
Break the harden soil.
Loosen the tangled soil.
Water it with Living Water.
Plant the seed.
Die to earthly desires.
Desire for heavenly pleasures.
