Comfort From Above

Who or what can comfort us in such days as these?
No more the things we can hold on to anymore.
No more the big house we thought could save us.
No more the one we thought could embrace us.
No more the one that was swept away too.
No more of those I knew and am familiar with.
Now I must grapple with those I do not know.
Now we must grapple with those we are not familiar with.
Now we must seek to know the One who can be known.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
verse 4
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that
we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
